Pickle for a Giggle, created by Anne Rathjen and Tasmanian Leaders group, was successfully launched in February at Hobart Netball & Sports Centre — raising over $27,000 for Clown Doctors Australia through registrations, donations, raffles and BBQ sales. The event not only met its fundraising goal but also proved it has strong potential to become an annual event and expand to other locations.

The day was made possible thanks to generous sponsors, prize donors and volunteers. Special mentions included Karin and Glenn Wheeler for their guidance, MC John Xintavelonis, Tammy Bowman for the Zumba warm-up, and supporters such as JOOLA Pickleball, Six Zero Pickleball, Tassal and Pickleball Tasmania.

Numerous local businesses and individuals also contributed raffle prizes, sponsorship and hands-on support, creating a vibrant, community-driven event. Overall, it was a joyful, collaborative success — proving that from small ideas, big things can grow.
